Brief History

Jerome Réyer was born to Giraud and Anne- Colette Réyer in 1828, in Paris. As the son of a middle- higher class family, he lived a relatively content childhood as an only child. He met Antoinette Déféyer when he was seven years old and has had a deep infatuation with her most of his life, even though she has been completely ignorant of his affections at the best of times. At the age of thirteen, his uncle Raphael purchased him a brand new daguerreotype so that he could pursue his growing love for photography. But his father had other ideas. Though not depriving his son of his hobby, he made it very clear that he intended Jerome to follow in his and his grandfather’s footsteps; as the maestro and musical director of The Paris Opera.

Jerome being the passive sort, accepted this career without question but it did not falter him in continuing to feed his passion for the still life image. He can often be found in the auditorium of the opera gearing and guiding the performers of the opera towards a stunning performance, all the while watching the woman he loves from afar.

Jerome never officially married, yet it was in one night of passion with his part time lover, Antoinette that he conceived and later became a father to fiery daughter Ember, who has been his whole world since the moment of her birth. He lives alone still with only his daughter and servants to take care of him, and is quite content. However, Jerome’s health is not always the best and is prone to many chest infections brought about by a long-term illness.

Character Personality

Generally, Jerome is of a quite disposition and likes to avoid confrontation – however, it should not be thought that he is a push-over when in fact it is quite the contrary. He is a loving man who tries his hardest to avoid conflict and he is always willing to help those in need. However, Jerome has one weakness, and that is Antoinette Giry who despite her changeable temperament and sometimes even cruel treatment of him, he is forever loyal to.
